We are hiring an experienced Senior Payroll Tax Specialist.

Summary:

The Senior Payroll Tax Specialist is responsible for all aspects of quality service for clients to ensure timely, efficient reconciliation and entry of daily, quarterly, and annual tax deposit information. Contacts and assists clients in the process of obtaining information for tax related issues. The Senior Payroll Tax Specialist ensures all mid-quarter and mid-year conversion processes are completed timely and accurately.

Effectively manage assigned client relationships with all internal and external business partners to enhance the overall client experience. Including a wide range of activities such as payroll processing timelines, researching, and resolving payroll related issues. Excellent analytical skills for identifying, researching, and resolving potential issues preferred. They are responsible for analyzing and interpreting complex tax laws and regulations, ensuring compliance with applicable tax codes, and maximizing tax benefits for individuals or organizations.

Your duties will include:

  • Import client tax liability from payroll platforms.
  • File and pay client payroll taxes timely and accurately.
  • Prepare and file quarter and annual tax returns.
  • Setup and balance all "full service" tax clients.
  • Maintain client ID numbers, rates and deposit frequencies.
  • Prepare and file amended tax returns by researching, identifying, and resolving issues on client's behalf.
  • Run payroll tax reports and verify information reported is accurate for governmental agencies including all levels of Federal, state & local taxing jurisdictions.
  • Identify and solve root causes of discrepancies in daily, weekly, semi-weekly, semi-monthly, annual tax payments, and recommend process improvements when warranted.
  • Process Tax and client payroll payments on a daily basis.
  • Perform monthly uncashed check reconciliations.
  • Coordinate printing/electronic filing of returns on behalf of clients.
  • Advise internal stakeholders on tax planning strategies, including deductions, credits, and other tax-saving opportunities.

Office Suite software:

  • Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook & Web Based Applications
  • iSolved Software experience a HUGE PLUS
  • MasterTax Software experience a PLUS

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, specifically in Accounting/Finance
  • Must possess a strong knowledge of payroll and payroll taxing regulations
  • Knowledge of Federal and multi-state payroll tax laws
  • 3+ year's experience in a Tax Specialist role
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
