Payroll Tax Manager

Position Summary: The Payroll Tax Manager overseas all aspects of quality service for clients to ensure timely, efficient reconciliation and entry of daily, quarterly, and annual tax deposit information. Develops tax strategies and policies that help the client or business maintain compliance with local and federal tax laws and regulations. Works to identify tax problems and propose solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Manage and mentor members of tax team to greater levels of effectiveness and engagement.
• Facilitate and manage the preparation and review client tax filings.to ensure proper recording of tax transactions and compliance with applicable laws
• Find and implement opportunities for process improvement
• . Maintain effective control procedures over all aspects of the tax process.
• Provide support with various internal audits and special tax related projects.

• Reviews clients' Quarterly Wage and Tax Register to ensure client information is recorded properly for W2 purposes.
• Assures accurate client files.
• Establishes and maintains a positive working relationship with clients, agencies, and coworkers to promote a quality customer service image

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Strong accounting, analytical, and research skills
• Detail and follow up oriented
• Superior listening skills

• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
• Ability to work well independently as well as the ability to work well with stakeholders and communicate the benefits of tax initiatives.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in payroll tax or a combination of education and experience
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
• Experience in multi-state payroll/taxes and filing requirements
• Projecting a positive image in representing the Company to clients and the community
• Exemplary communication and technical presentation skills
• Self-starter with ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
